Volunteer Information

Our requirements are simple:

• Proficient English speaker (B2 level or higher)
  
  

• A passion for helping people
  
  

• Availability for at least 1 hour per week
  
  

No teaching certification or prior experience is required — we provide all the training you'll need.

How to Get Started

Step 1: Submit Your Application

Fill out our short online application at the bottom of this page. Share your background, availability, and interest in volunteering.
A volunteer coordinator will contact you shortly.

Step 2: First Interview – Get to Know You

The first interview is relaxed and conversational.
We will:

• Learn more about you
  
  

• Ask about your motivations
  
  

• Assess your English proficiency
  You’re also welcome to ask any questions about how our program works.
  
  

Step 3: Second Interview – Policy Review

The second interview is a quick, formal step to ensure you:

• Understand our teaching guidelines
  
  

• Are familiar with expectations
  
  

• Are comfortable with our policies
  Once this is complete, you’re ready for training.
  
  

Step 4: Training

Our training process prepares you to feel confident and supported as a new volunteer teacher. Training includes:

1. Training Session (1–2 hours)

You’ll meet with a trainer who will guide you through:

• The basics of language learning theory
  
  

• Best practices for teaching low-level English learners
  
  

• How to use our online teaching resources and lesson templates
  
  

2. Class Observation

You’ll observe an experienced trainer teaching a live class to see how lessons flow in real time.

3. Assisted Teaching

Next, you will teach a class with a trainer by your side to provide help and support as needed.

4. Independent Teaching (With Observation)

Finally, you’ll teach your first class independently while a trainer observes, just in case you’d like extra assistance.
After this, you’re fully certified to teach your own class each week.

Time Commitment

We ask for just 1 hour per week from our volunteers.
This allows for consistent student support while keeping the commitment manageable for your schedule.
